Our main focus is on training, so we stopped taking any new boarding-only clients in 2015. We grandfathered in our existing boarding clients (prior to June 1, 2015) so their dogs could continue to stay where they are comfortable.
This varies among each individual, but generally, we have you choose up to three things you want to have sharpened, or one new skill/behavior, if you're only choosing to add a minimum of 3 days of training (provided their stay is 6 nights or less).
They are not included in Refresher Training, but you have the option to add one at the end of your dog's stay. These must be scheduled at the time of booking.
Most dogs and their families do well with a refresher 3-4 times per year; continuing education for both canines and humans alike is important for maintaining a good working relationship (with us as well!). Our recommended maintenance schedule will be based on your goals, lifestyle, and your dog's age and level of training.
As long as we have the availability to accommodate refresher training during the entire duration of their stay, we can train them every day that they are with us to make the most of their time here.
Since we don't do e-collar training (aka: shock collars), your dog's compliance is dependent on the relationship they have with each person. And since most people don't have the handling/management skills that we have developed, the dog's training is bound to loosen some over time.
